The website has been revamped recently and also features The Gathering Place a members area - free registration - includes offers of exclusive bottlings.
New visitor centre opened in November 2011, tours are available at 11am and 2pm Monday to Friday.
My visit to Balblair Distillery in July 2010 was a tour with Assistant Manager, Graham Bowie, very informative, and an excellent tasting at the end.
Balblair was originally at a different site, but still retained the same water source when moved to the current location in 1895.

Nearest station is Tain (TAI) (5 miles) - Edderton Sation was right next to the distillery, (hence Station Road), but closed long ago and is now a private house. Alternatively Ardgay (ARD) is about 8 miles away. Live Train Times: TAI, ARD
If your bike's laid up, the 900 service from Tain runs through Edderton about 4 times a day.
Leave Tain on the A9, past Glenmorangie Distillery, and carry straight on at the roundabout where the A9 heads across the Dornoch Firth Bridge. Balblair Distillery is off Station Road, Edderton, which is in turn off the A836 from Tain to Ardgay, about 6 miles from Tain. The Distillery entrance is opposite the Edderton Inn.
Balblair bottle in vintages, which change from time to time. The current range is 2001, 1995, 1989, 1978, 1975, 1965. You may still find bottles of 1997 & 2000 available. The 1965 is an amazing dram - 52.3% when bottled after 43 years, but it'll cost you about £1,250! The 1989 was far more affordable - in the mid-£40s, but the 3rd edition launched in 2012 has seen a considerable price rise.
With the release of 2001, Balblair have announced that all vintages will now be bottled at 46% or above, non-chill filtered.
This range was launched in 2007 with elaborate packaging, the previous age statement range was exceptional value for money, but is now selling for considerable prices - I think I still have some stashed away...
